RUTILE SAND

Rutile Sand is a ceramic raw material rich in rutile, a mineral composed primarily of titanium dioxide (TiO₂). It is widely used in the formulation of ceramic glazes to create decorative effects, giving surfaces a sandy, textured appearance with natural colour variations.

Depending on the glaze formulation, the percentage used and the firing temperature, rutile sand can produce unique visual effects, promoting the development of crystals, colour nuances and organic finishes that are highly valued in artistic and studio ceramics.

It is a versatile additive, compatible with different types of ceramic glazes, and is frequently used to enhance the final finish of ceramic pieces, creating surfaces with greater visual depth.
